NeuroVasx, a privately owned company founded in 1997 to develop diagnostic and therapeutic devices for the neurovascular embolization market, is developing the cPAX, a polymeric strand delivered through a microcatheter into a cerebral aneurysm as an embolic.
NeuroVasx development of cPAX, commenced in 2001 with a grant furnished by the National Institute of Health. In December 2007 the company raised a private round of financing worth $8.5 million and in March 2009 NeuroVasx obtain CE Mark approval for its technology for treating cerebral aneurysms.
